Up for your consideration is a 2 Transcription Disc set of "The Ted Lewis Show",
a Chartoc-Colman Production, Chicago Illinois

Recorded and pressed by Columbia Recording Corporation,
a subsidiary of Columbia Broadcasting System, Inc.

What makes this a set is the way in which the programs were transcribed onto the discs. The first disc includes Program 11 Part 1 and Program 12 Part 1. The second disc includes Program 11 Part 2 and Program 12 Part 2. Having both discs completes each of the two programs.

The Transcription Discs are 16" in diameter and plays at 33 1/3 RPM

Based on the design of the label and the content of the discs, we believe
these discs date from 1947 or 1948. My research has led me to believe that the Ted Lewis Show was aired between 1947 and 1948. This is consistent with the time frame in which the musical note and microphone logo of CBS was in use. The Curator of the Ted Lewis Museum has confirmed the airing date of 1947.
 
The Ted Lewis Show is for the most part a lost treasure of old time radio shows. Not entirely, because it is available here; though difficult to locate elsewhere (for sale or not for sale).

Both discs have a few lines or rubbings. When examined we found that they are not scratches. They do have a little dust present.

 The labels overall are in very good condition. Of the four labels (two per disc), two of them have slight spotting.

The Part 1 paper sleeve appears to be in fairly good condition. There are a few  small tears at the top of sleeve. Other than that, there is a half moon shaped light mark on the bottom of the open circle of the sleeve.      

The Part 2 paper sleeve appears to be in about the same condition as the Part 1 sleeve. The top of the sleeve is wrinkled, has folds. There is an approximately 4 inch slit on right top corner of sleeve,
 and a small stain on bottom right side of sleeve.  
 
These discs were acquired from a public University,
which we are commissioned to sell for.
