"Is Everybody Happy?"
Columbia 16" Transcription Disc Test Pressing Ted Lewis Show
Program 5 part 1 rare

Up for your consideration is a Test Pressing Transcription Disc of "The Ted Lewis Show",
a Chartoc-Colman Production, Chicago Illinois

EachTed Lewis Show Test Pressing contains half of a particular program, part 1 or part 2. This Test Pressing contains part 1 of program 5 on one side and the other side lacks grooves/label.

The Transcription Disc is 16" in diameter and plays at 33 1/3 RPM (going by the playing speed of the broadcast discs)

My research has led me to believe that the Ted Lewis Show was aired between 1947 and 1948.

The Ted Lewis Show is a lost treasure of old time radio. It is difficult to locate elsewhere and those few programs or copies found from extensive online searching are not for sale and are the broadcast discs. Further, I have been unable to locate a single test pressing of the Ted Lewis Show.

We acquired about two dozen transcription discs of the Ted Lewis Show. Most were broadcast discs. We have sold all but two of these broadcast discs. We are now starting to market the five test pressings that we acquired with the broadcast discs. It would stand to reason that these test pressings are even rarer than the already very rare broadcast discs.

For condition information please see below and images:

The test pressing is in great condition. Some dust is present. The label is in pretty good condition aside from some fading of the writing.

The paper sleeve is in nice condition overall. There are some slight to moderate tearing at the top of the sleeve. The sleeve has a former owner's stamp and some limited pencil writing. Commercial records for consumers come with original (usually lithographic) sleeves. Transcription discs are not for consumers and therefore, they do not require nor are they sold with lithographic sleeves. So, we feel that the sleeve condition is a minor point in assessing this disc.

The disc was acquired from a public University,
which we are commissioned to sell for.

*Please bear in mind that we are not condition experts,
please refer to the pictures provided to judge for yourself

As we are unable to test 16 inch discs, these discs are being sold As Is.
