Description
Collectors, here is a wonderful disc, Columbia one sided black label #484; from the label, my guidebook says the record dates to late 1902! An unnamed band plays the introduction to the third act of the Wagner opera "Lohengrin" (you will recognize it!). Nice arrangement and playing, very enjoyable, The record plays well with fairly minimal surface noise. Golly, Columbia did not start making disc records until September 1901 under the Climax label, and under the Columbia label in fall 1902. So this is right at the beginning, incredibly rare, if this is what you like and need, do not pass it up!
