Description

Here's a rare "Demonstration Kit, Not For Sale". This is the Columbia Masterworks March 1952 demonstration kit used by salespeople to build interest in the upcoming classical music releases from Columbia Records. Nice box with a color cover and gold lettering on the spine. Inside is a binder mechanism holding eight LP cover art slicks, and a heavy sleeve containing the LP with selections from each of the eight releases on it. The album in this kit is virtually Mint, never played. The sleeve it's in is Near Mint. The eight full color cover art pieces are Very Good Plus to Near Mint. All intact, no markings, no tears. For classical music collectors, this early 1950s box set is close to a Holy Grail piece. I'll pack this carefully, first wrapping in kraft paper, then lots of bubble wrap, before it goes into a big padded mailer or a box.
