Description
This is a 78 rpm record of Comedian Harmonists performing "Wir Sind Von Kopf Bis Fuss Auf Liebe Eingestellt" (otherwise known as "Falling In Love Again"), a song that's most famous for having been performed by Marlene Dietrich in the film "The Blue Angel." This is a really lovely rendition - in German, of course, made all the sadder by the knowledge that the group was ultimately forced to break up because of the Nazis. It's backed by the Comedian Harmonists performing "Ich Hab' Fur Dich 'Nen Blumentopf Bestellt," which is a more up-beat number.
The is an original German pressing ca. 1930 on the Electrola label (E.G. 1911). I just played both sides and it played through without any problem. There is a slight needle drop (or scratch) on "Falling In Love Again" that creates a click for a few grooves - nothing major (see photo). There are no cracks or edge chips and the record seems to have been well taken care of.
