Cleaned and fully play tested. I cleaned using a record cleaning cloth and record cleaning solution because the record was only a little dirty, but not filthy, when I acquired it. I may not have lifted all of the dust from the grooves with my cleaning. A deeper cleaning might prove beneficial, but the record is enjoyable in its current state.
Wow! These wild rockers sound superb. You can be assured that this is not a "reissue" bootleg copy. Check out the details in the many photographs provided. I acquired this record in a lot of thousands of records from the estate of a long-time record collector who's collection ended about the end of the seventies and was focused on fifties and sixties records.
Record Condition:
The VG+ record is very glossy with some light surface scuffs.
The labels show some mild general wear and light yellowing of age along with some sticker discoloration and removal marks. The "WFRA" written on the labels is the call letters for the Franklin, Pennsylvania AM radio station that provided much of my musical education in the 1960s.
The record was play-tested just before offering it for sale. The sound quality is superb. Background record surface noise is heard as a mild crackle in the lead in and as the music fades into the trailing groove, but is mostly drowned out by the music once the tunes kick in. That's not to say you might not notice a buried tick once in a while, but there isn't anything severe to interfere with listening pleasure. I noticed 3 light ticks early on the "Who's Been Here" side. There is a tiny speck on the record that probably is responsible. I tried cleaning it off, but failed. It's not like it's a big deal, but I wanted to point it out. You can listen for it at about the 1:08 mark of the sound sample video, but it is a little hard to catch in my phone microphone recording. There were no skips or sticks during play, of course.
The video sound sample provided is in the photos section so you can hear for yourself how great this record plays. Please do crank up the volume for the best effect. You can hear about a minute of each side which is about all I can provide under the eBay video rules.
There is a spot in "Who's Been Here" that made me do a double take. At a few seconds under a minute into the song, I heard a momentary blip of dropout. It's not a defect though. I compared the sound of this record with the sound of two different YouTube recordings of the song. All three sound the same. The dropout blip is in the recording and was probably just Ronnie's voice cracking momentarily. You can try to listen for what I just described at the 1:46 mark in the sound sample video. I only mentioned this so you'll know what's going on and not think there is a problem.
Sleeve Type: The record is currently in a Realistic branded white paper sleeve. Judging by the light nature of surface scuffs on the record, my guess is this record spent most of its life sleeved but probably went un-sleeved for a little while.
Sleeve Condition: The sleeve shows a little wear but is in nice shape.
Inner Sleeve: None.
Inserts: None.
Shipping Notes: You can be sure that this will be packed well for you. Appropriate shipping materials will be used to provide the reasonable protection from abuse that you expect. That's just how I do things. Signature tracking will be used for USA shipping. That means that your mail carrier has to hand the package to you in person and can't just leave it sit out unsecured in the hot sun or in the rain. If nobody is available to sign for the package, then you may have to pick it up at your local post office. (For international buyers, the signature tracking only applies to the USA portion of the package's journey. After that, the package travels by eBay shipping rules.)
