Continental Showstoppers – ‘Not Too Young’ / ‘Never Set Me Free’ – Seventy 7 107 (US)
No introduction necessary, absolutely gorgeous version of Jackey Beavers’ classic tune, originally recorded by The Camaro’s on Dar Cha. This version by a group bearing one of the coolest names in the history of soul music, and with whom Beavers supposedly toured in the seventies, is arguably better than the original. Northern Soul at its very finest! Top copy; first come, first served…Condition: Excellent (please listen to the clips). Clean labels (please see scans).
