Description
We are thrilled and honoured to be offering for sale a number of items from the late Stan Tracey's own personal collection on behalf of his son Clark Tracey. This includes many extremely rare albums, some purchased by Stan during his time in New York, plus test pressings and other gems collected over his lifetime as a musician and composer.
Here we have a rare 1958 copy of Cookin' With The Miles Davis Quintet on the very collectable English Esquire label. RVG is etched in the deadwax.
Degritter cleaned, the vinyl has come up spotless and has retained a good gloss with some visible hairlines and scuffs ( see photos). Clean labels and spindle holes. We have graded VG based on appearance but it plays VG+ with the odd click and very low background noise on the run in and in between tracks. No jumping or sticking.
Overall really enjoyable with the clear and vibrant mono sound typical of Esquire pressings.
The outer sleeve is strong with the usual age related discolouration, a few creases and a tiny area of laminate peel near the spine where there is a 1cm tear. Otherwise no real laminate lift.
The original heavyweight inner sleeve is present and still doing a great job.
