Description
Here we have another very rare Esquire for sale - Cookin' with The Miles Davis Quintet. Recorded in 1956 by Rudy Van Gelder ( RVG stamped in deadwax),this was released in the UK by Esquire in 1958, cat. no. 32-048.
The record has been Degritter cleaned and has come up very shiny with only light hairlines and minor scuffs. The heavyweight vinyl sits flat with clean labels and spindle holes.
Playback reveals a warm, bold, vibrant sound which is typical of Esquire pressings - astonishingly good for their age. Clean with a low noise floor, the record plays through well with no issues whatsoever & is extremely enjoyable. We own an Analogue Productions copy of this album and the old mono Esquire more than holds its own against the AP version!
The flipback laminate front sleeve is clean and sturdy but showing some age with laminate missing and peeling to the front LH corner and top. Discolouration and creasing but no writing, stains, tape or tears.
The record has been placed in a generic poly lined inner sleeve.
