Description

Cortex ‘Troupeau Bleu’. Original French LP, NOT the tacky bootleg (I only ever deal in originals). Disques Espérance ESP 155 524, 1975. Cover: strong vg+ (two-inch split along the bottom seam). Vinyl: vg++ (a few light surface marks, but nothing at all serious – plays absolutely fine).

Quite simply, one of the toughest, tightest fusion-funk sessions ever laid down on wax. The instrumentation is stunning from start to finish & finds the perfect complement in the breath-taking vocal talents of Mireille Dalbray. ‘Sabbat (Part 1)’, ‘Automne’, ‘Chanson d’un jour d’hiver’ (towards end), etc. Original copies like this of this classic LP are just SO hard to find nowadays, & you know they’re always gonna knock spots of the cheap & nasty reissue!
