Description

A 1st press of Disraeli Gears on the Reaction label from 1967. Matrix A1/B1. Both labels mention the correct date '1967' and publishing credits are consistent with very 1st press in November 1967. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original stereo FULLY LAMINATED cover printed by Ernest J. Day. Importantly, 'Stereo' is mentioned on the rear over in the top-left and NOT in a white box in the top-right. So, have no doubt about it this is a bona fide 1st press from autumn 1967.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In absolutely superb condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection we could only make out a few of those ultra-light bag rash type marks - and certainly nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with prefect clarity. Interference is minimal. All we could detect was a couple of crackles in a couple of spots. A blindingly good rendition and a top-level stereo copy without a shadow of a doubt.
Cover (Ex+) Wowzers! A real beauty and has clearly been looked after down the years. This cover is lovely and shiny with only one tiny crease! The rear exhibits almost no handling wear at all - very very unusual. Edge wear is super light and the spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover still retains great rigidity and lies perfectly flat. Difficult to imagine going better than this example.
