Description
For sale here is a very rare 1st Press Mono copy of the classic album by Cream, Disraeli Gears. This is the ultra rare very early first press with the miscredits labels showing Windfall Music and Apple Publishing. This mistake was noticed very quickly and corrected. These Windfall/Apple copies are the most sought after. Even more rare is that all aspects of this are in excellent condition. The original first press sleeve, laminated front and back, is in Ex+ condition with no marks, tears, writing or stains. The spine, top and bottom edges are all in perfect condition. There is absolutely minimal wear to the opening edges. The inner sleeve is in excellent condition. The record itself is almost unmarked. Side 1 appears without any blemish I can see. Side 2 has 3 or 4 visible hairlines but none of these affect the sound at all. All in all the sound is great - vibrant and clear with only minimal crackles before the first track of each side and between some of the tracks. The labels are clean and unmarked. The spindles show only minimal signs of playing. It would be difficult to find a better copy of this very rare example of the first Mono press of this classic and iconic 1960s album. The Rare Record Price Guide suggests £250 for a fully mint copy.
