Description
An ULTRA RARE piece of Australian rock garage proto-punk history. This is the original 1966 debut single from The Creatures. All I Do Is Cry w/ Mona. Australian pressing. 66/Sound (or Sound/66, whichever way it is) through Top-Spot Records. Catalogue numer S45-01 & S45M-0883 (0884 on other side). Great unplayed condition. Some smudges. Plus PR release (seems to have been mimeographed as there is some fading in the middle of the release which is signed in pen by David Gibson - looks like Gibson anyway), noting that their sound is described as “R&B – Jungle Jive”. Originally from Mildura, formed as the Beagle Boys, then moved to Sydney. Their debut single was followed by the legendary 1967 Ugly Thing. NOTE: PR release has their premises at 169 Forest Rd, Hurstville, NSW, while sleeve has it at 78 Buckingham St, Surry Hills, NSW. Sleeve split with later typewritten label affixed. This comes from the collection of a noted Australian rock'n'roll historian, collector and broadcaster.
