CRIMPSHRINE LAME GIG CONTEST
The great lost album by this seminal East Bay punk band is probably the summation of the late-'80s 924 Gilman Street scene, which spawned Green Day, Operation Ivy, and Rancid. The lead singer, Jeff Ott, later went on to found Fifteen, and Aaron Elliott, the drummer, has been in Pinhead Gunpowder and countless other bands. He's also responsible for the zine Cometbus.
Initially rejected by Lookout! Records, the album was released by the German record label Musical Tragedies. Much of it later appeared on the compilations Duct Tape Soup and The Sound of a New World Being Born, but two songs—"New Scenery" and "Concrete Lawns"—are unavailable elsewhere.
Both cover and vinyl are Near Mint. It's the yellow cover, of which just one thousand were made. (The second run, of five hundred, was blue.) Aaron wrote the twenty-two-page booklet, which includes lyrics (some in German!), photos, and writing. It's included and is in Mint condition, too.
