Description
Original US Elektra release from 1989. Cool “crackle” effect on the cardboard outer sleeve. General sleeve wear consistent with a 30 year old item. Couple strange stains or marks, as well as a slight bit of sticker-rip, all can be seen in the pictures. No seam splitting on outer cover, nor on the original paper inner sleeve.
Vinyl was cleaned on a Record Doctor machine. Plenty of hairlines all over the record, both sides. Only mark I’d consider significant is on “Fascination Street” it’s clearly visible, and more serious than all the other light marks.
Listened to the whole thing all the way through. Light background static crackle whatever you want to call it pretty much audible in between songs or during quiet portions of the songs. If you want to concentrate incredibly hard on hearing background vinyl noise, you could hear some on almost every track. In my opinion this is minimal, the record was “mixed to be played loud” as stated on the inner sleeve, and the music itself overpowers most vinyl noise. It sounds great, better than the
2010 remastered CD in my opinion. Again, there is background noise but I wouldn’t say that it affects the listening pleasure. It’s a vinyl record that’s been played. It’s not silent. The mark on “Fascination Street” I indicated isn’t significant audibly. It sounds no different than any other song on the record.
Nice used copy that sounds pretty fucking great all things considered. Often referred to as their best album, and part of the “Pornography”, “Disintegration” “Bloodflowers” trilogy.
Pretty much a must-own album.
