Curtis Fuller Sextette "Imagination" 1959
RARE Savoy Records (MG 12144), RVG, Mono, VG+
Formed between his fruitful years with Blue Note and his tenure with the Jazz Messengers, Curtis Fuller's "Sextette" comprised a host of bop nabobs: Fuller, trombone; Benny Golson, tenor saxophone; Thad Jones, trumpet; McCoy Tyner, piano; Jimmy Garrison, bass; and Dave Bailey, drums. Recorded by Rudy Van Gelder at his studio in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey. (Look for the "RVG" stamped on the dead wax.) This record is in VG+ condition, with a few small hairline scratches and scuffs on the vinyl; expect some very light surface noise on playback. The cover is in great condition.TRACK LISTING:
