DALE HAWKINS Oh! Suzy-Q Original 1958 Chess Lp 1429
ON THE FRONT COVER & TOP OF THE LABEL IT IS SPELLED SUZY-Q ON THE BACK COVER & SONG LISTING ON LABEL IT IS SPELLED SUZIE Q IN THE NOTES AT THE BOTTOM OF THE BACK COVER IT IS SPELLED SUSIE-Q
COVER: strong VG+ a little wear at the corner tips a couple of aging spots
VINYL: looks no better then VG-, lots of surface lines but most cuts play an easily enjoyable VG.
On one of my record players during an instrumental of the song "Juanita" it has a moderately loud pop. On my other player it loses about 2 notes in a skip. I guess it depends how heavy your tone arm / stylus is set at as to which will happen.
On the same player that "Juanita" skips, the very last song "A 4 Letter Word called Rock" repeats the last 2 words once after the song /record has ended . On my other player it doesn't. I don't count that as something wrong but I made recordings of it on both players so you can hear the difference. "Juanita" & "A 4 letter Word..." although still quite enjoyable are the 2 weakest cuts condition wise so I suggest you listen to both versions of them. They are the only cuts I recorded on both players, See the links below,
I have copied links of the whole album on YouTube 3 songs at a time. The last 2 YouTube clips at the bottom are Juanita & "4 Letter Word called Rock" played on my player in which they just pop.
The "Junita"with the skip during the instrumental is the last song on my 1st Youtube clip.

NM (Near Mint): Record and cover appear virtually unmarked.
VG++: Will play NM or just short of it. Will have just a very few visual marks.
VG+ : Used but not abused. Will probably have some relatively slight audible imperfections.
VG : Many only surface lines or may have a small scratch that doesn't skip. Background sound but still enjoyable.
Cover defects will be noted.
VG-: significant background sound from various defects but music always quite audible above it.
Cover has some damage that will be noted.
G+: Enough defects that depending on the style of music listening may be a chore.
G: (Good) is not so good
