DALE HAWKINS
LITTLE PIG
If you Dale Hawkins at all, it's likely because of his song "Suzie Q." Recored in 1957, it was only a minor hit at the time, but in retrospect has become one of the defining tunes of the '50s, with covers by many other bands in the '60s and '70s.
Hawkins also cut several other worthy titles for Checker Records and this one is from April of 1958. Both sides of this are simple wonderful, and have appeared on countless compilations of rockabilly classics. The topside is “Little Pig,” a fanciful rockin’ version of the three little pigs story. On the flip is “Tornado.”
