Description
This is a very rare album by The Damned. It doesn’t come up for sale very often.
The original 1977 pressing of their debut SEEZ 1 not one of the many subsequent reissues.
There were only 2000 pressed with the (on purpose) misprinted sleeve with a photo of Eddie and the Hot Rods on the rear cover.
This often comes up on auction and goes for ridiculous prices, the same happens to the valuation on Discogs etc.
I can only go with the very few I have seen on here and try and value it accordingly.
It plays well, there are some scratches visible, and you can sometimes hear some in the gap between songs, however they are not evident once the track plays.
The sleeve is intact with no tears or marks, however there are signs of ageing on the front and rear and some small stains on the Stiff label itself as seen in the pictures.
Ultimately you are probably very familiar with the music and looking to own a rare item to complete your collection, one that scarcely shows itself in the public domain.
It is the holy grail of Damned collectables, and after looking after this for 48 years, it’s time to pass it on to someone else for safe keeping.
Any questions, please ask.
As a footnote I had a question about the weight of the vinyl as apparently the early pressings were lighter than subsequent ones. This one weighs 115 grams so that comes in lighter than the next press.
Also I had a question about the matrix numbers and I can confirm that they are 1-5 SEEZ A1 and 1-10 SEEZ B2 A PORKY PRIME CUT, and apparently this makes it a first pressing second variant, so a very early 1st press according to my learned friend! Hope that helps.
