Description
The band was DANCING MOOD formed in the year 2000, at the initiative of trumpeter Hugo Lobo, with vast experience of having played and recorded in many bands on the national circuit such as Viejas Locas, Callejeros, Satellite Kingston, Riddim, Turf, Ataque 77, Mimi Maura , All your Dead, Intoxicated, Free Ladies, among others. Among its prominent members are Sergio Rotman (saxophone) and formerly Toto Rotblat, who died in 2008, both musicians from Los Fabulosos Cadillacs. Big band lover, Lobo took the concept further and joined a symphonic band. The group knew how to merge Duke Ellington with Delroy Wilson, Burt Bacharach with Count Basie, or Dizzy Gillespie with Charlie Parker. Each of the arrangements for the orchestra is by Hugo Lobo, and each instrumental passage reflects the hullabaloo of ska. Thus, each concert of the band became a celebration beyond genres, triggering standards chanted and apogeed by crowds. Musicians with vast experience in the Argentine scene, from various musical groups, joined the project. In 2015, they were awarded by the Konex Foundation, with the Diploma of Merit as one of the five best bands of the Instrumental/Fusion discipline of the last decade in Argentine.
