THIS IS THE 2007 US REPRESSING on ETERNALLY YIP EYE MUSIC label. IN SHRINK SINGLE COVER + HYPE STICKER + REMASTERED. The cover is in EX condition, normal wear and without any major deterioration but light discolouration/wear on right corners/right edge (where missing shrink), left spine is fully readable; for details see photos. The vinyl is in EX/NEAR MINT condition [barely played].

DANIEL JOHNSTON
One of rock's most endearing (and enduring) outsider artists, manic depressive has been making fractured pop songs since '80s. As with other talented but troubled artists such as Syd Barrett, Brian Wilson, and Roky Erickson, Daniel Johnston fights a daily battle with the chronic mental illness that has plagued him nearly his entire life. However, despite recurrent bouts of delusional behavior wherein he has physically endangered himself and others, Johnston has carved out a respectable, influential career as a singer/songwriter of extraordinary talent who has grown since his first crudely recorded cassette was released in 1980. He became the singer/songwriter of choice of the alternative/underground rock scene, and at various times has had his work championed by members of Sonic Youth, Yo La Tengo, Butthole Surfers, Half Japanese, Nirvana (Kurt Cobain was often photographed wearing a Daniel Johnston T-shirt), and numerous others.

As with Yip/Jump Music, Hi, How Are You was a reissue of a cassette recording Daniel Johnston made in 1983, and as such it reflects the most fertile period of his early development. Like its predecessor, this is a friendly record marked by his increasing skill as a pop songwriter and his increasingly comfortable singing. His mood here is good, especially during the defiant "Keep Punching Joe," which eschews bitterness for personal resolve. Another important release...(AllMusic)
