DANTALIAN'S CHARIOT - THE MADMAN RUNNING THROUGH THE FIELDS - COLUMBIA DB 8260. Condition is "Used". Dispatched with Royal Mail Signed For 1st Class Large Letter. Available from a sellers private collection. The only 45 RPM Single created by the legendry DANTALIAN'S CHARIOT THE MADMAN RUNNING THROUGH THE FIELDS b/w SUN CAME BURSTING THROUGH MY CLOUD (Columbia DB 8260 Released September 1967) The record is graded "Very Good +" Considering it its age of 54 years. Both sides play perfectly with no clicks or sound distortion There are some miniscule scuff marks on the "A Face" LABEL (as shown) but no deep surface cuts and no hole distortion. I have seen it offered for sale in the UK for as much as £249 and is valued by RCM at (£60 Very Good and £96 Excellent) It is housed in a period 1970s Cardbord Sleeve.
DANTALIAN'S CHARIOT Was formed by Zoot Money, following the dissolving of his "Big Roll Band" due to the emergence of the psychelelic scene. The band comprised of :- Zoot Money (Keyboards), Andy Somers (Guitar), Pat Donaldson (Bass), Colin Allen (Drums). The band were known for their psychedelic light show (Imported from San Francisco) and wearing white robes and kaftans, together with their equipment being painted white. Dispite the record being one of the psychedelic highlights of the1970s, it failed to sell upon its initial release, but like many other 1970,s gems, is now valued and highly sought after in its original vinyl format. Further tracks were recorded for a planned LP release. (Finally surfacing in 1996) but disputes with their record label halted this and subsequently the band disbanded. Some of the members going on to greater things. Money later observed "Madman was a description of our personal experiences, brought about by the use of hallucinogenics" Be that as it may, its a fabulous record.
