Description
Darkside Of The Moon was recorded at Abbey Road Studios and released in 1973 0n the Harvest Label. I bought my copy new in the 70's and it has the matrix numbers SHVL804 A6 and SHVL804 B4.
The record is in absolutely superb condition and looks as good as new.
The vinyl is virtually unmarked. I recorded the album to tape shortly after purchase and often played the tape rather than the album - hence its nearly new condition. It plays very well with superb sound and with no skipping or jumping and there seems to be hardly any surface noise or sound deterioration after all these years. The record has been stored vertically in a record cabinet alongside other LPs all its life.
The front cover is in excellent condition. It is very clean and has no marks or creases on it. The spine is also unmarked. Strangely for an LP, and perhaps typical of Pink Floyd, there is no writing on the spine, it is totally black except for a small white line representing white light from the prism. The back cover is likewise in excellent condition. The album is a gatefold design and the inner covers are both in excellent condition and totally unmarked. The cover is printed by Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd.
The album comes with its original inner sleeve which has no folds,splits or tears.
Tere are two Pink Floyd posters included in the album which are both as good as new. I perhaps took them out after purchasing the album and then put them back. They have not been out since until today so I could take a photograph of them. The album also has two postcards inside the cover - both of which are as new and uncreased. There are some instructions on the back of them to bend and fold.
