Description
Super copy which has been buried away in my collection and just unearthed. It is the 1969 original and rare Dave Kelly stereo LP on Mercury 20151 SMCL with black and silver labels. Machine etched matrix numbers are 136161 1Y//1 420 11 5 and 136161 2Y//1 420 11 1 respectively. Included on the album of course and keeping it in the family is the great and sadly missed Jo-Anne Kelly.
I really can't see much evidence of the record having been played if at all. I've certainly never used it in anger and I've had it for decades but can't remember how acquired. I've looked at the tight and fresh spindle holes from all angles and even with the slight creasing at the holes from the pressing process I can't see any 'spindle snail trails' on the clean paper labels. The vinyl is flat and shiny but has lived in the sleeve (albeit poly-lined) for the last 48 years so does show scuffs and very light hairlines under the evil table lamp but as I say in my opinion is solely as a result of physical contact between the vinyl and poly over the years.
The laminated cover is clean and sharp and a great example. All I can say against it is some minor creasing and ringwear which yet again is down to age.
