This is my second rarest record. I've collected 45s all my life in markets, record stores, car boots - you name it....the story with this Fab 45 is...I used to go junking at Portobello Market in the 70's - usually Friday mornings early. I'd collect some rare stuff and meet in the Golbourne Road cafe with our collector mates to have breakfast and check out the finds. This morning I was late so went straight to the cafe. As I neared the door the furniture store next door rolled out an old HMV radiogram - the guy opened the front and took hold of a stack of 45s and placed them for sale. I noticed they were Decca sleeves with promo discs (top one was 'Screamin' Lord Sutch') I asked the price for the stack - the furniture man said £10- done! There were 26 records - all demos. I burst into the cafe with excitement to show the guys and tell them my story. We checked out the haul and found this ultra rare Bowie single. I played it once and kept it safely in my desk until this week when I'm offering up for auction.
