Description
1973 UK 1st press copy in all round great condition, with all original components and an RCA Press Copy of a signed David Bowie photo. Great stuff!
Year/Label : 1973 UK RCA Label number : STEREO RS 1001 Matrix numbers : CPRY 4543-3T, CPRY4544-3T Stampers : A1 AA / A5EExcellent plus (EX+) condition vinyl - completely flat, retaining a jet black sheen and in normal daylight comes across as completely unmarked. Only with close inspection under a bright light is it possible to detect just a few extremely faint paper scuff lines, each purely superficial and not impinging upon the wonderful audio quality at all. Similarly each label is near mint (NM), retaining their lovely 1st press "glossy" sheen with original pristine black text, and I cannot identify even the usual one or two very faint spindle trails - remarkable! Clearly this is a record that has been very sparingly played. The condition of the original and iconic UK non-laminated Shoreweood Packaging outer gatefold sleeve is a strong excellent (EX). The stunning, iconic art work, graphics, and sleeve text all remain beautifully intact. Each edge remains firm with no scuffing at all, and each corners remains a near perfectly defined right angle with just a very slight bump on the bottom right hand reverse side corner - very minor. The spine remains rigid with the spine text perfectly intact and each opening edge also remains firm with no fraying. The interior of the gatefold is difficult to fault in any way. There is just the slightest hint of some very, very mild vertical age discolouration adjacent to the spine and on the spine itself - again, very trivial. The blue, red and white lyric/credits inner sleeve is in strong excellent (EX) condition with no seam splits or tears and just some very minor surface grazing next to the top and bottom edges caused by insertion and withdrawal from the main gatefold sleeve; and the "RCA PRESS COPY" David Bowie photo/autograph and original fan mail membership folder (not filled in) are both excellent plus (EX+). The STEREO audio quality is a stunning excellent plus (EX+) with no skips, jumps, repeats, sticks, clicks, interference, distortion or background crackle. Each track remains a great listen with wonderful tone and clarity throughout. Timeless rock at it's very best with the sound quality being so much better on vinyl than a digitised CD (in my opinion!).
On of the true rock classics and now becoming very hard to locate UK 1st pressings with all original components and in condition as truly impressive as this.

Note that I always insert the vinyl into a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve in order to protect the original during postage, and separate this from the outer sleeve to prevent seam splits. I use thick cardboard stiffeners and take great care in my packaging to ensure as far as possible that these precious records reach their destination in exactly the same condition as when they leave me.
