Aladdin Sane 3T/3T Fan Club 1st Press + Insert

This rare first press 'fan club' version is in fantastic condition and includes the original fan club insert which is complete and in Mint condition.  The blue lyric sleeve is also in great condition.

This vinyl is in superb condition and has only a small number of the faintest sleeve removal hairlines only and there are no scratches or marks.  It really is visually stunning and still has a mirror like glossy sheen.  Hardly played it has hardly any spindle wear and is a fantastic looking (and sounding!) first press.

Play grading  

'Watch That Man' starts S1 with breathtaking audio.  With barely any lead in static it plays with stunning power and depth and there is no interference at all.  I cannot stress enough just how good it plays!  Even the fade plays impeccably with no obvious 'background'.  The title track plays in the same fashion with only a minimal amount of crackle on the quiet fade out.  The three other tracks on this side again impress with superb audio.  There is not a single click or pop and there is certainly no crackle let alone static.  This is audio of the highest calibre although there is perhaps a touch of mild distortion on the final track 'Cracked Actor'.  This is common on 'final tracks' where the grooves are often pressed closer together in order to 'fit' it on.  It still plays very cleanly with only a few small ticks literally at the end of the fade out.

  The quiet intro on 'Time' plays with wonderful clarity and there is only the 'softest' of static in a couple of places.  Hardly worth mentioning really!  The remainder plays with impeccable quality and no 'background' at all.  The quiet mid section plays as near to Mint as is possible and the fade out has minimal static only.  What a stunning start to S2, wow!  The other tracks equal this standard.  'Let's Spend The Night Together' and 'The Jean Genie' play as Mint the strength and separation of the music is just so good.  The piano intro on 'Lady Grinning Soul' is just sublime with no 'background' at all.  This amazing clarity continues and it is without doubt the cleanest version of this track I have heard in a long time.  Even the long fade out has no interference.  A spellbinding end to a classic album.

In summary this 'fan club' first pressing plays with impeccable quality.  With no clicks or pops and next to no background this is a rare find.  Rarer still to find with a superb gatefold, lyric inner and fan club insert.  A final upgrade archive version without a shadow of a doubt.

The Gatefold

This is in excellent condition.  The edges and wide spine are in fantastic shape with no rubbing and only the bottom right corners have a minimal amount of wear.  The predominantly white cover has retained its colour extremely well with just a little discolouration down the right hand side of the front cover.  The back cover is in lovely condition and the inside has only a small number of mega faint age related spots near the inner spine and a couple of ink spots.  The opening edge has hardly any handling wear.  Overall this is a great example off this iconic cover.  This would easily be Ex+ if not better but for the minor marking on the front cover.

Lyric sleeve & Fan Club insert

The lyric sleeve is in great shape with no splits and has only a little fading on the bottom edges, you won't find many cleaner.  The fan club insert with the printed signature is 100% complete and is 'as new', no marking at all.

The labels

The orange labels (with place names) have hardly any spindle wear and no writing/marking - just a couple of minor indents around one edge.
