Description
In 1973, British rock pioneer David Bowie released his sixth studio album. He titled it 'Aladdin Sane', which was a play on the words 'a lad insane'. It saw Bowie as a force to be reckoned with, and was created at the peak of his glam rock days. The cover is iconic. It's his face, close up, with the colorful lightning bolt across it. Orange red hair. And a teardrop on his colllar bone. Yep, that's a teardrop! Lol (RIP, David Bowie. The world misses your talent, and your humanitarianism!)
In today's holiday rockin' good deal, you'll receive a copy of that glam rock masterpiece, and on a 12" picture disc! It's the entire album, and was part of a series of several Bowie pic discs that was released from RCA Records in 1984. (Great year for Bowie, as he had a hit named "1984", right? Lol) This comes in a special die-cut sleeve, and a hype card with its designated number (a low 376). The back of the pic disc is the song titles and credits, ads for singles from the album, and pics of Bowie in his Daisy Duke shorts! The 70s were a LOT different than today...
Vinyl looks great. I can see only a couple of very, very light surface marks on here. Nothing bad, and hardly noticable. I cannot vouch for the sound for two reasons. First, it came from the 80s, so undoubtedly, it sounds terrible. And second, I never play picture discs. They are made to proudly display or show off, but to put collectibles on a turntable? No way!
A great vintage Bowie pic disc, that is up for grabs today, and at a nice price! For that loved one in your life who loves David Bowie, glam classic rock, and collectors of wild and crazy picture discs; or grab this for yourself, because you know you're worth it! And the Christmas shopping season is officially in high gear, so don't wait too long!
