GENUINE PROMO LP IN THE ULTRARARE STEREO . I say GENUINE PROMO because that is precisely what this is . Back in 1967 the Deram USA record company droped a major bollock when they pressed this LP .

All the stock copies (stock copies means copies to be sent to record shops for general release) were all sent out with a PROMO stamp on the back of the LP or with a Sticker saying PROMO ADVANCE LP on the front sleeve or with both PROMO sticker or the PROMO stamp .

PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO DOUBLE CLICK THE PICTURES AND HAVE A LOOK AT THE OUTSTANDING CONDITION OF THIS RARE ITEM .

Both Mono and Stereo LPs without promo stickers or Promo stamps are the REAL AND GENUINE PROMOS LPs and were sent out to record stations or music writers , anyone who the record company deemed were able to promote this LP .

Both Mono and Stereo versions without promo markings are ridiculassly rare but it is the Stereo that is by far and away the rarer of the two . To find one in of these in any sort of condition without the markings mentioned above , you will have your hands full . To find one in this superb condition is near immpossible . The only downside to this LPs condition is slight split to the spine and some edgware (all spinal writings are visable) and a really slight crease to the bottom right corner visable in the pictures appart from that its really clean throughout . Beautifully clean labels , the pasteback sleeve is in lovely condition front and back . The vinyl looks as if it has only been played a couple of times and retains a high lutre sheen . There is no drill hole to spoil the appearance of the LP and so this LP was never intended to be exported . Still has the original London Records DERAM inner sleeve advertising music of the day . Also comes with an anti-static inner sleeve which has obviously contributed to the outstandingly spotless vinyl .

Penny start and NO RESERVE . So a real chance to grab a true Bowie rarety that most collectors mistakenly thaught was more common ! The ones without the promo markings are the GENUINE PROMOs . Try and find another .

The difference between , Promos test pressings to normal stock copies is enormous ,much more than a sticker or promo stamp . When an ACETATE is made , it is sent to a MASTERING LAB to be coated in nickhol . The nickhol is then peeled away from the acetate and that nickhol is called the mother stamper .

At the mastering lab a very small amount of records are pressed from that mother stamper ,they go forward to be called Test Pressings and PROMO LPs . After all it would not be feasable for a record pressing plant to switch on their enormous machines to press a few copies . They are also made of a different material to vinyl . They contain a higher content of shellac , shellac is the very expensive material ingridient used to make acetate cellulose laquer , Acetate is the highest quality one can achieve in terms of sound quality which is why they are so highly prized by collectors . After acetate , it is the shellac vinyl that is used to make Promos and Test pressings  that sounds the best , thats why they are sent to radio stations for broadcast . It is because of these limited runs from the Mother Stamper and the Shellac Vinyl that makes Promos and test pressings so sort after ,they sound far superior ! Thats another reson Deram USA made such a big mistake getting these promos mixed up .
