Description
Original 1974 release of David Bowie’s dystopian glam rock concept album Diamond Dogs on RCA Victor. This copy features the black RCA Victor Dynaflex labels with catalog number AYL1 3889 as shown in the photos, along with the plain inner sleeve.
Diamond Dogs marked Bowie’s final full glam-era statement before transitioning into the soul-influenced sound of Young Americans. The album draws heavy thematic inspiration from George Orwell’s 1984 and includes standout tracks such as Rebel Rebel, Sweet Thing Candidate Sweet Thing Reprise suite, Rock n Roll With Me, and the theatrical title track Diamond Dogs. Production and arrangements are handled by Bowie himself, with contributions from Mike Garson on keyboards and Tony Newman on drums.
This pressing shows the RCA Victor Dynaflex branding on the label and matches the AYL1 3889 catalog number printed on both the spine and rear jacket. Recorded at Olympic and Island Studios in London.
