This is a lovely example of the 1st UK pressing of Hunky Dory.

When Hunky Dory was originally released on 17th December 1971 Bowie hadn't had a hit for two years and, like its predecessor, the album sold only a small number of copies. Within a year Bowie would become a superstar and that heralded the first of countless re-issues for Hunky Dory. However, the first pressing of Hunky Dory can be differentiated from all subsequent releases.

Detailed description
Vinyl: The vinyl looks superb and has retained its original high sheen. It has clearly been very well cared for and rarely played. Under bright light, just a few whispy hairlines and fine marks were visible, but absolutely nothing significant. I have played the entire record and it sounds fantastic. There is some soft background noise and crackle which can be heard in the quiet parts and the run-ins/outs, fades, silent grooves and intros and the occasional random click. But there is nothing loud or intrusive and no repetitive clicks anywhere. This is a superb example and was a real pleasure to listen to.
Labels: Both labels look superb with absolutely no signs of damage, writing, stickers etc and no obvious spindle marking.
Sleeve: The sleeve is really nice and clean with no damage, writing, splits, tears or stickers etc and just very light signs of use. This is a rare cover in any condition, but to find one like this is very rare indeed.
Edge wear: top/spine/bottom/opening: minimal/minimal/minimal/light. There is virtually no wear to the edges and the spine is solid and firm. The text is all 100% readable.
Corner wear: minimal
Insert: This is the original first-pressing insert from this copy. It has not been substituted with a later one. It shows slight signs of handling and use with some minor marks etc, but no tears, writing or significant issues.
