DAVID BOWIE - HUNKY DORY
An overall very condition 1971 UK 1st press copy with brilliant stereo sound quality throughout
Year/Label : 1971 UK RCA Label number : SF 8244 Matrix numbers : APRS 5917 3T, APRS 5918 3T stamped and with "Bobil" and "Rasputin" etched onto side 1 and side 2 run-off's respectively Stampers : A2 AK / A1 AR (both etched)A solid very good plus (VG+) condition vinyl (many would grade as "excellent", I am sure) - completely flat gleaming vinyl still retaining an impressive jet black sheen on each side. Close inspection does reveal a number of very fine wispy hairlines on each side along with just a couple of very small and hardly noticeable light scuff marks - all appearing to be strictly surface only and purely superficial as evidenced by the excellent sound quality throughout. The labels are in excellent plus (EX+) condition - just a couple of small extremely faint spindle trails immediately next to the centre hole on each label, otherwise perfect! A solid very good (VG) condition outer sleeve - firm edges with some occasional and very light scuffing on the bottom edge, a firm spine also with a few tiny "nicks" and some sporadic very light scuffing but with all spine text remaining legible, firm opening edges with no fraying, some minor (but noticeable) light ring wear towards the top and opening side edges on just the front side, a few 1cm horizonal surface crinkles adjacent and perpendicular to the spine on the front side which do impinge slightly upon the spine, nicely defined right angled corners with minor rubbing on each, and a small area of light old sticker residue at the top left corner on the reverse side. All colours, art work and text remain in overall very nice condition with great definition making the sleeve very presentable still - do take a close look at my photos where I try to portray an accurate assessment of the sleeve's condition. Comes with original sepia lyric insert with a couple of light creases and some occasional very minor and small handling/storage marks towards the edges. Truly excellent (EX) stereo sound quality with no sticks, skips, repeats, distortion or clicks and barely any background crackle at all - just wonderful sound quality throughout with great tone and crystal clear stereo reproduction. A brilliant listen and hard to believe that this copy is 55 years of age! Comes with original plain white die-cut inner sleeve with no splits or tears, no edge fraying, and barely any creasing either. Note that I always ship the vinyl in a new plain white inner sleeve in order to protect the original. An overall very nice condition copy of this 1971 UK 1st press Bowie gem with the truly impressive stereo sound quality being a real highlight.

Note that I always insert the vinyl into a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve in order to protect the original during postage, and separate this from the outer sleeve to prevent seam splits. I use thick cardboard stiffeners and take great care in my packaging to ensure as far as possible that these precious records reach their destination in exactly the same condition as when they leave me.
