On offer here is a legendary mega-rarity and one of the ultimate DAVID BOWIE collectables, a 1st pressing UK LP of Hunky Dory with the NEVER SEEN LAMINATED COVER!!!!! Only a very limited number of these albums were ever issued with the laminated covers and they were the very first pressings which sold in tiny quantities!!! Later copies without laminated covers were pressed and sold in large numbers after Bowie’s Ziggy Stardust LP became a best-seller. The laminated cover gives the front sleeve a very different look with Bowie’s face more pink in colour! The cover itself is in great shape with only some minor creasing and is very strictly graded in EX condition!! The original lyric sheet is included and is also in EX condition!! The record has the glossy shiny RCA labels identifying it as a first pressing, and NOT the later paper labels!! Catalogue number is SF 8244, matrix numbers Side 1 – APRS 5947 3T & Side 2 – APRS 5948 3T. The record itself is also very strictly graded as VG+++/EX- with visible hairline marks under strong light. This is an astonishingly RARE item from my personal collection acquired a long time ago and kept in great condition!!! These laminated copies NEVER turn up for sale!! Records will be packed in very secure brand new professional record mailers with cardboard stiffeners and with the LP in a PVC sleeve and with the inner sleeve and record separate from the cover to avoid splits etc - I do not make a profit on postage at all and delivery quickly and pack very securely for maximum safety.
