Bowie's 2nd and 3rd album releases didn't sell well at the time, so when RCA released his 4th album in 1971 - 'Hunky Dory' and it didn't sell well either they decided not to make a further pressing of it. Giving him another chance in 1972 with the 'Ziggy Stardust' album everything thankfully went stratospheric, and the rest is history. Therefore, in 1972 large quantities of 'Hunky Dory' were then re-pressed compared to the few that were pressed first time around, and one of Bowie's most collectable albums was created. There are lots of copies of this currently for sale on eBay and virtually none of them are first pressings, or even from 1971. But only in the past week 3 copies have sold (one of them for £110) by sellers who have advertised them as 'First pressings' when they are not If the matrix runout does not have 3T A1 (or A2) and Bobil on the A side, and 3T A1 (or A2) and Rasputin on the B side it is NOT a first pressing. If the sleeve is not front laminated it is NOT a first pressing sleeve. Neither is it manufactured until 1972.

The Prodigy is the latest model of record-cleaning machine (available for the first time in 2020), from the World-renowned Keith Monks company and is already receiving excellent reviews in the HI-Fi press. The machine has been acquired in order to increase the quality of the vinyl that is sold through this site to the highest level possible, and the machine does give excellent results.
What difference does this make to the records that are advertised here?
From this point on ALL vinyl that I sell will have been cleaned using this machine, combined with a specially formulated KEITH MONKS or ART DU SON record-cleaning solution made from pure bio-degradable ingredients.
PROCEDURE
1) Firstly the disc will be cleaned as described above 2) The disc will then be FULLY play-graded, to enable an accurate grading for the advert.      I am happy to offer this service. This is done on a very high quality Linn Sondek turntable fitted with a £100 Goldring Moving-magnet cartridge.
Gradings are made according to the Record Collector Magazine grading system.

Disc condition: Side 2. There is a scratch mark across tracks 1-4 (which looks worse than it sounds) and can be heard as follows: 1 Vg  Faint sounding click throughout 2 Ex  Not noticable 3 Vg+  Faint sounding click throughout 4 Ex  Not noticable 5 Ex  No issues.
DISC: EX  // No skipping or sticking / not worn on either side / no marks on labels / No issues apart from those noted above / Test played very well

SLEEVE: VG+ // clean / no marks or writing / no tears, splits or edge slicing anywhere / very slight ring wear / spine straight and square with all text legible

INSERT: EX // No tears, no marks, no holes / creasing at the bottom corners

INNER: EX // A 1972 RCA die-cut white original in great shape / no slices or tears / age related discolouration.
