COMMENTS:
RARE JAPANESE 7" VINYL - LIMITED EDITION PICTURE DISC
DO NOTE, THIS IS NOT THE BOOTLEG VERSION
YOU CAN RECOGNISE THE BOOTLEG VERSION BY THE BLACK RIM AT THE EDGE OF THE RECORD. THE BOOTLEG HAS A MUCH WIDER BLACK RIM COMPARED TO THIS ITEM I'M SELLING
ALSO, THE STAR NEXT TO "DAVID" ON THE ACTUAL PICTURE DISC, IS MORE "BLACK" COLOURED ON THE BOOTLEG, WHEREAS THE GENIUNE ARTICLE, IT IS SILVER/GREY COLOURED (see pic 5)
ALSO, AS PER VARIOUS FEEDBACK WITH REGARDS TO THE SOUND QUALITY OF THE BOOTLEG:
Looks reasonably convincing, but plays with a frustrating amount of surface noise. Bootlegs like this are inevitable when so few copies are pressed of the official release
PICTURE 7 IS THE BOOTLEG VERSION, FOR COMPARISON PURPOSE
DO NOTE, I'M NOT SELLING WHAT IS ON PICTURE 7
I'M SELLING WHAT IS SHOWN ON PICTURE 1,2,3,4,5,6 - THE GENUINE ITEM
NOTE ABOUT THIS ITEM, PURCHASED IN TOKYO:
This release was sold exclusively at the shop of the V&A's "David Bowie Is" exhibition at the Warehouse TERRADA G1 Building in Tokyo, Japan in 2017. The release was withdrawn from sale approximately four weeks into the January 8 to April 9 run before returning in late March.
Track A is a previously unissued 2016 stereo mix.
The A side features a Masayoshi Sukita shot taken from a session in February 1973, at RCA Studios in New York. Bowie is wearing a costume by Japanese designer, Kansai Yamamoto.
The Sukita photograph on the AA side, taken in Tokyo in 1980, is from a session that remained unpublished until the Genesis Editions book of Sukita’s Bowie photographs, Speed Of Life, in 2012
THE SEALED STICKER IS NOT DAMAGED, NOT BROKEN
