The disc plays VG on one track..The sleeve is VG..I really don't like to grade with just a couple of letters,so if you want to read on I will give all the details and defects and you can make up your own mind....
Original's of this are SO hard to find as it was quickly withdrawn..
This is the original issue with the spelling mistakes (Tony Visconti on the label is "Tonny Visconti" and Woodmansey becomes "Woodmansley" on the back cover)...Be aware of boots of this album which have the spelling mistakes corrected...
The matrix numbers are:...1y 1 420 113 and 2y 1 420 111..
Issued on Mercury in April 1971..6338 041..UK pressing in a lightweight non laminated,textured sleeve...
Play grade...Nearly all of this album plays superb (No clicks,no pops and a big fat sound that just bursts out of the speakers)..The very end of "Running Gun Blues" and the very beginning of "Saviour Machine" play with a little clicking...I have done a sound clip of this area so have a listen and see what you think..
Visual grade:..To the naked eye there are no scratches or scuffs,but there is a small speck of white on the second side at the end of the first/beginning of the second tracks..(Hence the clicking)..I don't know what this white is,but I have played these tracks a couple of times and the white seems to be coming off with the stylus..Regular play will almost certainly clear the problem.....Examination under strong light (for those of you that like to take a searchlight with you when buying records!) reveals light paper scuffs/sleeve withdrawal marks..
The disc plays flat on the deck with no edgewarps..
The labels:..EX...They are clean and undamaged with clearly legible text..There is some spindle wear,but it's not excessive.....
The sleeve:..VG ..This is such a flimsy sleeve that it's a wonder that it has survived nearly 45 years!!..
Anyway,here are the defects..Dischape both front and back...Edge rubbing to all the edges including the spine..Rounded corners..A couple of small stain spots to the front (just above Bowie's leg)...The spine is not square and some of the text is not legible...
Having listed the defects,I must add that it has no rips,tears,seam splits,sellotape,heavy stains,tape marks or scribble and the colours are bright and unfaded..
This has a plain white inner sleeve (not polylined)....
