Description

DAVID BOWIE

THE MAN WHO SOLD THE WORLD.

1971 AUSTRALIAN ORIGINAL

ON MERCURY RECORDS

RED LABEL.

RARE .

As you can see this is the ULTRA RARE AUSTRALIAN version of BOWIE`s

1971 ROCK MASTERPIECE THE MAN WHO SOLD THE WORLD.

Let me try to put the term ULTRA RARE into a better perspective for you .

The UK version of this LP is seriously rare but this is out there. In terms

or rarety this Aussie Dress Cover is in a league of its own . For every 200

UK dress/drag covers you see , you will see only 1 of these. Ask yourself

when was the last time you saw one ? HAVE YOU EVER SEEN ONE ?

It is that rare ! When i collected All the Bowie rare LPs the 67 debut ,

the second LP the the Dress cover , i then moved to collecting each rare

LP from every country it was ever released in. This type of collecting is

known as being A COMPLETEST COLLECTOR . Completest`s  collectors

are considered to be a lot more serious. THIS IS ONE FOR THE COMPLETEST.

I would agree that it lacks the appeal that the UK stock issue has, but why should

it ? LOOK AT IT.

Believe me when i tell you , THIS IS IN AMAZING CONDITION.

I have owned 6 of these over the years and only seen about 10 in my life.

This is by far the best of them all . This sleeve is even more delicate than

the UK version.  The sleeve itself is very thin so prone to ring ware visible

in the shots. As these Aussie dress covers go this is exceptionally good.

The back has very little ring ware  and there is edge ware but no rips or tares

and for this sleeve that is rare ! It is textured just like the UK version but much

more lightly textured . You can read the writing ion the spine but it is faded that said,

its the BEST SLEEVE I HAVE SEEN.

I am not going to grade the sleeve it is exactly as you see it. In norman grading

i would grade this sleeve as VG. But that would be unfair to compare this

ultra Delicate Australian Sleeve to any other sleeve. Compared to the other

9 Australian dress covers I have seen, this sleeve is near mint.

The Record itself is in Excellent condition . A few wispy hairlines but it

plays magnificently . TAKE A LOOK AT THOSE BEAUTIFUL MERCURY

RED LABELS.... JEE, ZUSS. Ar`nt they FABULOUS . MERCURY in WHITE

on a that lovely red background with all the other writings in black. I have

treasured this for many years and it going to be another that it is going to hurt

to let go. The reason for this is simple.

I KNOW EXACTLY HOW DIFFICULT THIS LP IS TO FIND.

This is one of those really rare records that is yet to achieve its full potential.

Another is the German Round cover of the same name. Just like the round

cover This Australian THE MAN WHO SOLD THE WORLD is EXCRUCIATINGLY

RARE . One day this too will be worth a value that reflects it true rarity .
