Description
DAVID BOWIE – The Laughing Gnome ORIG Deram 45 // DM 123 (UK, Mono, 1967)
Bowie fans will know that when he hit big in the early 1970s, this single, much to his chagrin was re-issued and became a top 10 hit. There’s plenty 1973 copies flying around but when it comes to the original 1967 release, they are far less common. Happy to present one here with INVERTED LABEL MATRIX, ‘1967’ to the LEFT of the label and the BOLDER title text. It’s also in super condition and has been thoroughly play tested – with near perfect play.
The labels are fine bar a small, square number 7 sticker to the A. Other than this, clean, maintaining nice whiteness with NO writing or tears. Only one or two thin spindle trails to the centre also, showing this has been seldom played.
The vinyl is an above average copy. A couple of (very) small and short surface scuff marks to either side – not intrusive or easily visible (outlining ALL cosmetic imperfections away from Mint). NO scratches, no embedded dirt, NO ugly scrapes, NO dust pockets or grease. Nice shine too. Overall EX (Excellent) condition.
IT HAS BEEN CAREFULLY LISTENED TO and offers absolutely 100% brilliant definition. NO snap, crackle or pop, NO ticks, clicks or hiss. Fantastic clarity with NO distortion. Ace sound!
Presented in a very crisp, clean excellent Deram company sleeve which I believe to be its original. No ruffling, splits or creases to this sleeve!
Original 1960s Bowie!
No reserve.
