Description
This is an original 1970 Mercury record with the original cover, (the latter pressings have hand etched matrices and their covers have a different blue printing instead of the nice flat blue colour on the original covers).
The matrices are machine stamped in the vinyl dead wax area of the record.
The thick cardboard cover is very clean and in excellent condition, especially for a 1970 record. As expected there is some very minor wear which I have shown in the photographs. The top right corner of the cover has a small amount of very light creasing, because it is so faint it is extremely difficult to see it on the photographs. The bottom seam of the cover has just a little wear from the record over time, there are no tears or splits on the cover.
The cover has the correct original blue printing and has escaped the drill hole which the vast majority of the covers have in one of their corners.
The cover has no ring wear and it would be difficult to find an original cover in better condition.
The record appears to be excellent with just one hairline light scratch on side one which I have tried to show on the photograph.
The paper inner sleeve is showing the most signs of age and has seam split/wear at the bottom.
