This is the complete UK 1st press of 'The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars' by David Bowie. This earliest press has all of the essential features that together make this one of Bowie's rarest releases. It has the essential earliest 1E/1E matrix, there is no 'Mainman' credit on the record or sleeve, the label and inner sleeve have the 'Titanic Music' credit and the labels have a glossy orange finish.

The record is in Excellent condition. This rare heavy vinyl (unlike the dynaflex reissue) has a sensational gloss, the vinyl still has the original deep unplayed grooves. There are a couple of wispy hairlines but these have no significant effect at all; it looks superb. The record sits completely flat on the turntable and on playing it sounds superb. The sound is exceptionally rich, warm and very clear in all but the quietest moments. The orange shiny RCA labels are exceptionally clean. The orange is vivid, the white is bright and the black is bold. The text is perfect and there is only the slightest spindle wear.

The record is complete with the 1st press 'Titanic Music' lyric inner sleeve. The sleeve has some light edge wear but is still extremely solid and bright.

The original sleeve with no 'Mainman' credit is in Excellent condition. The black is very bold and the colours are vivid. The edges are firm with a little corner wear and there is a light ring wear. On the back the picture is bright, the white text is sharp and the whole cover is still in solid condition.
