Description
Up for auction is a nice copy of the David Bowie album "Hunky Dory" originally released in the U.S. on RCA Records (LSP-4623) in 1971.
-Guaranteed early '70's Dynaflex pressing -Short-run issue Tan RCA labels -A1 & A2 stamps in run-out matrix -Paste-down cover without catalog number on front -No UPC/bar code on cover -Original insert/inner sleeve w/ lyrics
Note: Beware: most copies of "Hunky Dory" for sale on eBay are pressed on the late '70s, early '80s black RCA labels, which are very common and not considered rare or particularly collectible. Copies on the early tan RCA label are very hard to come by as it had only a very short run prior to the major reissue on the black RCA labels. Also the copies with the "LSP" catalog prefix were much more rare than the later "AYL1".
Condition: The cover is still in very nice condition with only minor signs of previous wear and age. No ring wear. Light rubbing to the seams and corners. Seams are intact, no splits or separations. Looks to be nicely preserved. Grade the cover Excellent (EX), better than typical VG+ copies.
The vinyl disc is in beautiful condition, still retains its original high gloss shine and luster. No scratches or scuffs, no marks. Labels are clean, no marks around spindle holes. Looks like this record has been played sparingly, a couple times, and well cared for. Nice! Grad: Near Mint Minus (NM-).
