Description

Day One

'One Look'

Private, USA, 1985

DISCOVERED BY collectors of melodic hard rock/AOR in the mid to late 90's but always notorioulsy hard to find even in these generally accessible eBay days. From Los Angeles and deeply affiliated to the AOR/pomp rock side of the musical pie with clear influences from Airkraft, Stencil Forest and First Strike to more trad melodic rockers like Nightranger and REO Speedwagon.

The toons are pretty full-on and it's kinda weird that this four piece band, like Sugarcreek, didn't score a major label deal as they were clearly ahead of the pack. Perhaps they didn't have the connections or the managerial juice to really force the issue.

If you collect this kinda stuff - obscure privately pressed melodic hard rock with decent production values and killer hooks - then this one is way up on the 'got to score' list. Take my advice and make sure you snap it up - haven't seen a copy on eBay for ages so get it while you can. This one is a beaut.
