Description
Here is a rare copy of Greatest Hits by Al Green on a USA DCC LPZ-2058 audiophile 180 gram vinyl LP pressing. This is a rare copy of the audiophile re-issue mastered by renowned sound engineer Steve Hoffman for the then audiophile label Dunhill Compact Classics (DCC). Pressed on heavy gauge 180 gram weight vinyl these records were mastered with great care and accuracy from master tape sources using VAC tube cutting amps. Also all the songs are original hit single mixes, usually in mono, which differ from the standard issue Greatest Hits by Al Green vinyl or CD. The mastering is unmatched and the pressing is audiophile grade. These albums were pressed in a limited serial numbered edition. This is serial number 0253 as designated by a gold sticker on the rear lower left corner of the jacket, which by the way is near mint. The jacket is near mint with only some edge crinkles, no splits, cuts, notches, holes, ring wear or tears. The jacket is also has a laminated finish. The LP is a near mint minus only due to some slight smearing finish marks left by the stamper as it released the record during manufacture. There is also slight sleeve scuff or so. I've played side one and it has a very occasional tick, as most of these pressings did. Original rice paper protective inner sleeve included. The sound was INCREDIBLE for a pop sounding recording!! Mr. Hoffman has delivered the absolute BEST sound from the source tapes used. One visible spindle mark on side two, otherwise near mint minus grade. A truly rare and high quality pressing. The songs are: Tired Of Being Alone, Call Me (Come Back Home), I'm Still In Love With You, Here I Am (Come And Take Me), Love And Happiness, Let's Stay Together, I Can't Get Next To You, You Ought To Be With Me, Look What You Done For Me, Let's Get Married, Livin' For You, Sha La La (make Me Happy), L-O-V-E (Love), and Full Of Fire.
