Description

James Welch –
CONCERT (Organ Recital) -
Wilson Audio Specialties H-1-77 -
UTTERLY AWESOME!

This is one of the very first recording efforts of David Wilson, made in fact while he was still a product development engineer at Cutter Laboratories.

(As most of you know, today he is one of the finest designers of loudspeakers in the world.  I myself use his Wilson WATT/Puppies.)

This is his incredible recording of Welch's organ work with music of Walther, Haydn, Bach, Buxtehude, Durufle, and Vierne.  Make no mistake, for tonal accuracy, it is one of few vinyl productions of its kind, every session monitored through Dahlquist DQ-10s with subwoofer, plus Acoustats, KEF-105s, IMF Monitors, Infinity QLS-1s, and Magnaplanars.

Now for the audio nitty-gritty:

When playing the Durufle piece, please tighten your listening chair seat-belt.  A pair of 32’ monster pipes  are going to re-arrange your listening room furniture.  I kid you not.  The low frequencies here will flap your pants.  (A friend calls this, “an audiophile wrecking ball.”)

Cover of this glorious copy is without major fault, record within will play near mint.  Lovely vinyl, very well cut.

Absolutely, positively not to be missed.

For other fine records, TAS picks and hard-to-finds, please see my complete list of offerings here on eBay.

Shipping and handling is $5 for up to 5 LPs shipped within the States.   Internationally, $14 via airmail for the first LP, $3 each thereafter.   (Canada is half that.)   Boxes over 4 lbs., add another $5, because First Class is no longer available at that weight, just Priority Mail.  Note, too, boxed sets of LPs require more postage.
