ABOUT THIS RECORD...
Title: "DVORAK: Complete Symphonies 1-9”
Label: DECCA SXLD-6515-21 ffss pressings ((STEREO)) 7-LP box set + original booklet
KERTESZ/LONDON SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA
This LP set is in very good plus condition and plays almost like new but with some light static - please hear clip to know what I mean. The buyer will be getting a recording that is musically interesting and enjoyable to listen to. As has been noted by reviewers for decades now, this is simply a terrific cycle of the Dvorak symphonies! Kertesz brings life and excitement to all these pieces. His touch works especially well in the first six symphonies, which are all sadly neglected in the concert hall. Rhythms are crisp and bracing. The orchestral sound pulses with life. There is so much vibrancy to the playing- and the recorded sound is very rich, upfront, and dramatic - perfectly suited to this music. A definite winner. If you are an audiophile who loves Dvorak’s music, or are an avid collector of DECCA LPs - you will especially appreciate this record set! The box is in very good plus condition with light wear. Original sleeves are included.
