DECCA SXL 2086 - Rimsky-Korsakov - Scheherazade - Ansermet, PCO
Condition vinyl:
NM-
The vinyl is in very nice condition, even remarkably so for a 47 year old record. There are no scratches and no surface wear. A beautiful copy of this Ansermet rarity!
Condition cover:
VG+/VG
The scalloped flipback sleeve is in nice condition with just minor wear to the corners, a few very light and unobstrusive creases and a bit of age discolouration to the back. There are no splits, writing, tape or stickers and the overall impression is quite fine.
Pressing:
UK pressing - grooved wide band label, "ORIGINAL RECORDING BY" at 10 o'clock (ED1) -

This was one of Ansermet's earliest stereo recordings and is not to be confused with his later stereo version that was done with the OSR and was recorded more than six years later. This one is a much rarer item than its successor, as it was deleted from the catalogues soon after the new version hit the market. It was recorded on September 22nd 1954 in the Maison de la Mutualité, Paris. The LP on offer is a very nice and early copy, printing date on back of the sleeve is December 1959.
NM (near mint) is my highest grade for a non-sealed record - mint is reserved for sealed copies.
