Description

Super copy of the rare Decca UK stereo LP, SXL 2178, Beethoven Piano Concertos 1 and 2, Wilhelm Backhaus, piano, with Hans Schmidt-Isserstedt conducting the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. Original wideband, grooved label, with 'Original Recording By...' on label rim, 1E/1E matrix suffixes.

Front-laminated, scalloped flipback sleeve has a few light edge and thumb creases, a little corner wear and light ringwear, with the remnants of a little red ink on the top flip back from previous owner's writing. Overall, the sleeve is in splendid shape, with lovely colour and glossy laminate; it certainly grades EX.

Vinyl is clean and shiny, and flat, with no warp, a well looked after example, with a few very light hairlines not affecting super audio. There is the occasional light click and the usual light surface noise, but these do not detract from the wonderful stereo sound. Overall, vinyl grades EX plus.
