Description

[zipedit] Deep Purple "Burn"
Original 1st UK Pressing Cat No TPS 3505 (STEREO) 1974
Near Mint Archive Copy Barely Played! Near Mint Audio Archive! One Of The Best Sounding 1st press Copies That I Have Heard!
Earliest 'A-1U' 'B-1U' Matrix Endings Features "Porky Mel & Trish on side 1. "Pecko") on side 2.
Barely Played Archive Copy Never Need To Upgrade! Audio is floor less in my opinion! You can still see the plastic in the spdle hole!

Another from my personal collection of records that I have accumulated over a period of more than 45 years or more! One of my all time favorite rock albums. (Especially the track 'Misstreated' featured in my You Tube video below) This album is an early 1st UK pressing, featuring EMI Records rim text on the labels and earliest A1U, B1U Matrix endings, but the main reason that I have decided to list this album is for any Deep Purple audiophiles out there! The audio is absolutely stunning through out and up there, probably with one of the best sounding copies that I have heard! Audio & vinyl are graded near mint as it could be throughout! Even the 1st issue unlaminated Garrod & lofthouse cover is graded at mint minus showing very minor signs of wear only this is complete with the original EMI white record sleeve with no splits or tares! These early copies are becoming impossible to find like this especially copies that are barely played! An Archive copy never need to upgrade! I dought that you could find a better sounding copy than this one! Don't take my word for it, listen to the whole album recorded for you to listen in the player below.

Burn is the eighth studio album by Deep Purple, released in February 1974. This was the first Deep Purple album to feature David Coverdale on vocals.

<

Burn introduced a new unknown vocalist David Coverdale, and new bassist/vocalist Glenn Hughes from Trapeze.

Listen to the complete album in the player above. Actual recording from the vinyl.

The album was recorded in Montreux, Switzerland, in November 1973 with the Rolling Stones Mobile Studio. With the addition of Coverdale and Hughes, Purple's hard rock sound became more boogie oriented, incorporating elements of soul and funk which would become much more prominent on the follow-up album, Stormbringer.

The phenomenal title track started things off at full throttle, actually challenging the seminal "Highway Star" for the honor of best opener to any Deep Purple album, while showcasing the always impressive drumming of Ian Paice. The fantastic slow-boiling blues of "Mistreated"'s greatness qualifies it for the highest echelons of hard rock achievement, and therefore ranks as an essential item in the discography of any self-respecting music fan.

The vinyl

On visual inspection this vinyl looks absolutely superbe almost like new! I can't see a blemish at all on the playing surface! Any marks that could possibly be seen would be sleeve removal only, Importantly there are no marks that caused any clicks or pops or ticks throughout the audio that I heard.

The Audio Quality

I have played this through track for track as usual at very loud volume on a top system prior to this listing. The audio is rated near as mint throughout in my opinion! One of the best sounding copies that I have heard this will blow you away! This is crystal clear and vibrant through out. This plays with (no) signs of any distortion or that this has been overplayed at all in my opinion!
I would class myself as highly critical! Please look at my completed listings of records that i have sold of this calaber and you will see that I normally get it right! Audio is graded at the top! You will find the audio quality on this vinyl hard to surpass on all frequencies! Audio Near Mint throughout! Listen to the complete album in the player above.

Please note! I always make this disclaimer! Please allow for the odd very light static crackle (not) consistant throughout the audio! Although I never heard any problems at all and have given my honest opinion, this is a genuine 40 year old vinyl (not a reissue) that would have originally been played on a 40 year old system! points to note! This has been stored in a case laying dormant for the best part of 40 years! A build up of dirt and dust in the grooves over the years causes static crackle and ticks! From my personal experiance a constant clean before each play reduces this problem! and subsequently enhances the audio quality!

The Labels

This features the original purple labels in superbe condition feature EMI rim text.  Looks and sounds barely ever played! (no) marks or nasty writing. Light spidering can be seen angled to the light indicates this has hardly ever been played and certainly not been overplayed at all (You can still even see the plastic in the spindle hole, very rare for a 1st pressing) ''made in gt Britain'' text is featured (this is a 1st UK pressing)

The record sleeve

This is plain white original EMI paper sleeve no splits or tares light fading with age only. The original.

The cover

This is the original un- laminated flimsy ''MADE IN GT. BRITAIN'' Garrod & Lofthouse cover. No splits or tares . Lovely and clean and straight in general any storage wear or rubbing is minimal only and you would have to look for the imperfections or minor creases.  (see photos) I would grade at least excellent plus if not better in my opinion!
