Description
This is almost certainly the only original copy of this song. It is on a 10 inch Acetate (blank on the reverse) recorded in stereo at 45rpm. It was recorded by the Deep Purple MK1 line up in a recording session at the Sunset Sounds Records studios in Hollywood LA, the song is sung in one take and is as good as a 'live take'.
I am selling this on behalf of my father-in-law who is Nick Simper. Those of you who know your Deep Purple will know that Nick was the Deep Purple MK1 line up Bass Guitarist. The record is labelled to Nick (you can see the writing on the record label) by the receptionist at the studio as he asked for a copy on the day of the recording.
The song was never released as a single and has only been released once on the "Original Deep Purple Collection" album in 2001 by EMI. Nick allowed the Acetate to be used on this album. Please note that the copyright of the song belongs to EMI, what you are bidding for is a genuine piece of Rock history in a very rare form.
The Acetate is in excellent condition, no scratches etc, the sleeve has a slight tear but it only a paper sleeve so some wearage is to expected.
