This is the UK 1st Press of 'Shades Of Deep Purple' by Deep Purple. This album is pressed on the rarest and earliest yellow and black Parlophone label, it has the 1/1 matrix, it has the very earliest 1/1 Mothers and early R/O Stampers. This press is also complete with the 'Sold In UK' and 'Gramophone Company' label text and the 'Patents Pending' laminated flipback Garrod & Lorfthouse sleeve.
The vinyl is in Excellent condition. The vinyl on each side has a sensational high gloss, with no whitening of the grooves at all. There are just a few light wispy marks on both sides but none are significant and as such have little effect on play. It lies completely flat on the turntable. When played the sound is rich and vibrant. There are brief moments of light background noise but this is pretty insiginificant, it sounds SUPERB. The Yellow and Black Parlophone label is in exceptional immaculate condition. The black is bold, the silver text is sharp and the yellow is vivid. There is NO spindle wear.
The original and earliest Garrod & Lofthouse 'Patents Pending' flipback laminated sleeve is in Excellent condition. The white is bright, the purple is solid and the laminate is extremely flat and has a stunning shine. The edges are firm, there is just a little corner wear. On the back of the sleeve the flipbacks are completely sealed and intact, with just a little light wear. The white text is sharp. The whole cover is very solid and the earliest pinched spine is very firm with clear text on a bright background.
